Terms of Service

Effective: July 21, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using nohotdog.love ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use No Hotdog.

2. What No Hotdog Is

No Hotdog is a membership-based community that funds projects our members choose. Members subscribe to one of three tiers (Basic, Pro, or Legend Fr). Your membership proceeds — the amount remaining after applicable payment processing and platform fees — go into the Community Pool by default. During periodic voting drops, members vote on projects in the app, and winning projects receive funding paid out from the Community Pool. Funded projects agree to post updates so members can follow their progress. Members may also optionally direct a portion of their membership proceeds to the Impact Fund, described in Section 6.

Membership fees and boost purchases are not tax-deductible charitable donations. Impact estimates displayed on the site or in the app are approximations based on third-party research and should not be taken as guarantees of specific outcomes.

No Hotdog is an evolving community. We are actively learning how the membership, voting, rewards, and project-selection systems should work, and that learning will continue before and after launch. We may change product mechanics over time, including voting rules, free boost grants, paid boost behavior, reward availability, and project eligibility.

3. Accounts

Accounts are created via Google or Apple sign-in through our authentication provider, Clerk. You may only maintain one account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Current membership plans are monthly auto-renewing subscriptions, billed through supported payment providers. Web payments are processed by Stripe. Native iOS membership purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. Prices are as displayed at the time of subscription. We never store your payment credentials. We reserve the right to change pricing for future billing periods. Future billing intervals or offer types may be added if shown in the Service.

5. Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Stripe subscriptions can be managed through the web app's membership settings and Stripe-hosted billing portal. Apple subscriptions can be managed in the iOS app where supported or through your Apple Account subscription settings. After cancellation, you retain access through the end of your current billing period unless a provider cancellation or refund removes access earlier.

Subscription payments and consumable boost purchases are non-refundable except where required by law or by the applicable payment provider's rules. Apple purchase refund requests are handled by Apple.

6. Community Pool & Impact Fund

Membership proceeds go to the Community Pool by default. The Community Pool funds grants to projects selected through member voting drops. Amounts become available for grants and other payouts only once the underlying payments have actually settled with our payment providers, and payouts are recorded against the relevant fund. Timing of disbursements is at No Hotdog's discretion.

Members may optionally choose, in membership preferences, to direct a portion of their membership proceeds to the Impact Fund, our high-impact charity portfolio. An Impact Fund choice applies only to payments processed after you save it, and each payment stays tied to the settings and fund policy in effect when it was processed. The Impact Fund's recipients, cause areas, and composition remain at No Hotdog's sole discretion.

The set of community funds and the options available to members may change over time.

7. Voting Drops

Voting sessions ("drops") are how members express preferences about which projects receive grants from the Community Pool. Voting is not investing, does not create ownership in any project, and does not entitle a member to any financial return.

No Hotdog administers voting drops at its sole discretion. This includes whether and when drops are held, their frequency and schedule, the theme or topic of each drop, grant amounts and the number of winners, which project submissions are accepted into a drop, project eligibility requirements, and how and when results are shown. Drops may be open to member project submissions or curated by No Hotdog, on our own or with partner organizations. Member votes apply only to the projects we make available for that drop, and submitting a project does not guarantee acceptance.

The precise voting procedures are subject to change. A drop may include project likes, project passes, vote undo behavior while the drop is live, delayed or live results, and boost mechanics. Likes currently determine winners, and boosts currently act as the first tie-breaker. No Hotdog may change voting mechanics, eligibility, vote values, boost prices, boost weights, tie-breakers, and winner selection rules as we learn what works.

Grants to winning projects are paid from the Community Pool, and funded projects agree to post progress updates in the Service. No Hotdog retains final discretion on which projects receive funding and on grant timing and amounts, especially where legal, operational, diligence, fraud, safety, or availability concerns arise. Community Pool funds not granted in a given drop remain in the pool for future drops or other community-pool purposes.

8. Boosts & Rewards

Boosts are non-cash in-app credits used inside No Hotdog voting drops. They are not money, stored value, gift cards, securities, charitable donation credits, or property. They cannot be transferred, sold, withdrawn, exchanged for cash, or redeemed outside the Service.

Members may receive monthly free boosts based on membership tier: Basic members currently receive 1 free boost per month, Pro members 3 free boosts per month, and Legend Fr members 10 free boosts per month. Free monthly boosts reset each calendar month and do not accumulate. Paid boost packs, when offered in iOS, are consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple. Invite rewards, launch promotions, admin adjustments, refunds, revocations, or future reward programs may add or remove boosts under rules we publish in the Service.

We may modify, pause, expire, reverse, hide, or retire boosts, boost comments, rewards, leaderboards, or related features where needed to correct errors, prevent abuse, comply with law, process refunds or revocations, or improve the product. Any future physical or digital rewards program will be subject to availability and any additional terms shown at the time.

9. Email, Push & In-App Communications

We may send you updates about your impact, new projects, and community news. You can opt out of non-transactional email in settings. We may also show in-app notifications and project update cards. If you allow mobile push notifications, we currently expect to use them sparingly, such as for live voting. Transactional emails, such as payment confirmations and account changes, may still be sent regardless of your preferences.

10. User Content, Profiles & Moderation

You may create a profile including a username, display name, and bio, location, profile photo, and public/private visibility preference. You may also create project profiles — including a project name, description, links, and uploaded images or other media — and, where submissions are open, submit them to voting drops. You may also post or send content through supported community features, such as chat, direct messages, magazine comments, reactions, reports, feedback, or uploaded images.

You may not post, send, upload, or encourage illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, threatening, exploitative, pornographic, deceptive, spammy, infringing, or otherwise harmful content. You may not use the Service to impersonate others, evade moderation, scrape data, interfere with the Service, or abuse voting, boost, invite, or membership systems. You must have the necessary rights to any content you upload, and information you provide about a project must be truthful and not misleading.

We may remove content, restrict visibility, mute or ban accounts, block direct-message activity, resolve reports, or preserve records where needed for safety, community integrity, legal compliance, accounting, or abuse prevention. By creating user content, you grant No Hotdog a non-exclusive license to display, host, store, moderate, and operate that content within the Service, including on public pages such as project and profile pages.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee specific outcomes from charitable projects and are not responsible for the actions of third-party charity organizations.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, No Hotdog shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the site. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States.

15. Contact
